Its a Special Sunday Today! Not Another Sunday!!! :)
Its a Special Sunday today!
It's has been long time since I last went marketing and had Breakfast with my Parents.
I woke up at 8am after sleeping 5 hours from yesterday. I promised to go for breakfast with my parents yesterday. So I make it a point to wake up early even though I slept late yesterday.
We then went to the new temporary Chinatown market located at the open field next to Outram Market for Breakfast & Marketing.
Wow.. What a great changes!!! Dry Hawker (Former at 2nd storey), Provision & Other Miscellous Stalls (previously at 1st storey) and the Wet Market (Formerly Basement), are can be found at 1 level at this temporary market.
Started not long, about 2-3 weeks old, this market still has quite some maintenance to be done.. Some places were still collecting unwanted and posed hindrance to breakfast goers like me to detour another route to our favourite glutious rice stall. Heehee ;)
We had the imfamous Yong Tau Fu ($2/-) for a bowl with few pieces of tofu & beancurd + noodles. Seems reasonable but... OMG, look at the Queue... One long "snake" queue measuring about 30m long was seen starting from the stall and curling round & round the walkway next to the stall.
After Breakfast, Dad & myself waited at the smoking area tables & read our newspapers, catching up the juicy World Cup line-ups for tonight match, while my Mum went to do some marketing at the wet market at the other side of the new location.
After waiting for about 40mins, we left the place and proceed to Outram MRT. Just at the walkway from teh market to the MRT, I bumped into someone... guess who...
This middle-aged lady, is a special lady. I have not seen her for about twenty years old. When I was younger, I still do bump into her once in a blue moon, at chinatown, while she was shopping with her husband. After I started my Poly days, I seldom bump into her liao.
This lady is Mrs Lim, my favourite Primary School Teacher, whom took good care of me during my Primary School days. After I graduated, she still recognise my mum and bump into her occassionally and they chatted up and sharing updates about their children lifes.
To my surprise, she did not aged that much, she still look the same as I know her some twenty years back.
We chatted abit at the walkway. Found out that she had retired some 10 years liao. Wow, time really flies past us without us realising...
Now she is like my Mum, happily baby sitting their grand children... but both grand mums complained about the same thing... Sore Spine & Backache more often...
Hahaha... Is it true that, nowadays kids are really more and more diffiicult to handle and take care of? hmm... I should only answer this questions some 30-40 years later. heehee :)
Any grand parents, any views? ....
