My Christmas 2005

This year is the 1st year which I celebrate Christmas after I got into a new chapter of my life on 20th May 2005.

On 23rd Dec 2005, after a hard day at work. Together with my beloved, we started our 1st activity on our 2005 Christmas expedition. We went to JEC after our dinner at home. Watching movie is a common activity which normal dating couples would usually indulge in, but for us, we are no movie goers, we can count the number of movies we went for the year using our fingers. Hahaha;D! We reached JEC @ 8pm, just in time to get the tickets for a movie. (exchange from movie vouchers)

We scanned thru the movie listings and decided to go for this show which gathered a number of positive feedbacks from my colleagues. This title of the show is a name very close to us (Humans) and its decendents ("Ah Meng & Family") can be found in our Singapore Zoological Gardens....."KING KONG". The show starred from 8.45pm to 11.55pm (3 hrs & 10 mins). After the movie, we managed to quickly sneak out of the cinema and catch our last train home.

On 24th Dec 2005, early in the morning we woke up fresh after the KING KONG show yesterday night. "It's has been a long time since we last had Fast Food for breakfast, should we have it this morning?", my beloved asked. What else can I said? We went and had our enjoyable breakfast meal at MacDonalds = our 2nd Christmas activity!

We then spend our whole afternoon packing our stuffs, getting ready for Spring Cleaning for the Chinese New Year ( so gan cheong right? Hahaha ;D ) Shortly, after we then proceed for our 3rd Christmas activity = our Dinner at Si Chuan Dou Hua Restuarant at Plaza Park Royal Hotel. We had a sumptous meal at the restuarant with my beloved and her family! The whole restuarant is full of christmas ambiance, with the party hats, ballons and all the whistles & X'Mas gadgets on individual seats. (The dinner bill's (~$95 after discount) is paid by my UOB VISA after using a UOB $25 voucher)

After dinner, we deviate for our next (4th) Christmas activity. We decided to go to nearby InterContinental Hotel for our chitchat and drinks session. Wow, this is the 1st time I ever came across a drink with Baleys, Chocolate, Egg & some other ingredients. It's name is Around Midnight. Seems funny right? Nevermind, I just tried. Guess what? It tastes real cool! ;) 1 hour later, we proceed home with my beloved's family & prepare ourselves for the Christmas Day.

12 o'clock strikes, we exchange X'Mas greetings & wishes while watching our MidNight Show on TV before going to bed. 8 hours gone by, we woke up for our breakfast. We went to have the infamous Membina Char Siew Mee for our breakfast. Then we proceed to TS to get some VCDs to spend the cosy afternoon at home watching VCD = our 5th Christmas activity.

When the clock strikes 1pm, the afternoon movie begins! Guess what show we are going to watch? It's about Mount Akina! Anybody got this right? (Hahaha! Thanks for trying! No prize for getting the right answer!)

You are right! We watched (The legendary AE86 TofuCar which covers the Mount Akina in less than 5 minutes) <>. Wow, what a marvelous display of cornering and braking skills by the famous pop singer cum actor: Jay Chou.

On 26th Dec 2005, together with my beloved & my parents, we enjoyed yet another sumptous lunch at another branch of Si Chuan Dou Hua restuarant located at the 60th floor of UOB Plaza I = our 6th / last Christmas activity for the year 2005. (The lunch bill's (~$145 after discount) is paid by my UOB VISA after using another UOB $25 voucher)

This lunch not only allow us to enjoy the sumptous food that the restuarant had prepared, it also allow us to have a helicopter view of almost 80% of the country (stretching all the way to Tanah Merah on the EAST & all the way to Jurong on the WEST) from both sides of the restuarant. heehee! ;) What an eye-opener for me! ;)

So... after so much for my Christmas 2005, how about yours? How do you guys celebrate your Christmas for the year 2005? Is it fun? Do share! ;)

A Valued Seminar

A well known motivating story, has seen it many times, but its still as meaningful as the 1st time i saw it. Therefore, decided to share it here! ;)

A well-known speaker started off his seminarby holding up a $20.00 bill.

In the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this $20 bill?" Hands started going up.
He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this.

He proceeded to crumple up the $20 dollar bill. He then asked, "Who still wants it?" Still the hands were up in the air. Well, he replied, "What if I do this?" And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty. "Now, who still wants it?" Still the hands went into the air.

My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20.

Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value. Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who DO LOVE you.

The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or who we know, but by WHO WE ARE.

You are special- Don't EVER forget it."

Count your blessings, not your problems.

A MACDONALD's LOVE STORY

Something to cheer your day up!...

A little old couple walked slowly into a McDonald's one cold winter evening.

They looked out of place amid the young families and young couples eating there that night.

Some of the customers looked admiringly at them.

You could tell what the admirers were thinking: "Look, there is a couple who has been through a lot together, probably for 60 years or more!"

The little old man walked up to the cash register, placed his order with no hesitation and then paid for their meal. The couple took a table near the back wall and started taking food off of the tray. There was one hamburger, one order of french fries and one drink.

The little old man unwrapped the plain hamburger and carefully cut it in half. He placed one half in front of his wife. Then he carefully counted out the french fries, divided them in two piles and neatly placed one pile in front of his wife. He took a sip of the drink, and then his wife took a sip as the man began to eat his few bites.

Again, you could tell what people around the old couple were saying. - "They were used to sharing everything." Then the crowd noticed that the little old lady still hadn't eaten a thing. She just sat there watching her husband eat and occasionally sipped some of the drink.

A young man came over and begged them to let him buy them another meal. The lady explained that no, they were used to sharing. As the little old man finished eating and was wiping his face neatly with a napkin, the young man could stand it no longer and asked again.

After being politely refused again, he finally asked the little old lady, "Ma'am, why aren't you eating. You said that you share everything. What is it that you are waiting for?" She answered,
